It is also believed to enhance spiritual enlightenment.
Frankincense is a small, scrubby tree that is native to extreme climates such as the deserts of India, Oman, Ethiopia, Somalia and Arabia to name a few. The resin is collected by making small cuts into the tree bark and collecting the sap after it has hardened. Frankincense tears are the most natural form of this ancient medicine and are so aromatic and smell very sweet and fresh.
Frankincense has been used for over 5,000 years and has been highly sought after as medicine, perfume, incense and was once more precious that gold. It is often used in religious ceremonies and in many spiritual traditions, it is believed to have the power to protect, purify and aid in spiritual enlightenment. In Christian writings, it was one of the 3 gifts given to Christ by the three wise men.
