Salon Coordinator

Job Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete all areas outlined for this position in a satisfactory manner. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills and or abilities necessary to meet the minimum requirements of this position. Experience:

Required: Two or more years in a retail and/or service related industry, with a strong concentration on customer service and sales.

Preferred: Salon experience, ideally two or more years

Other Assets, but not mandatory are basic knowledge of:

  • Mail Chimp
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Pinterest

Skills Required:

  • Professional, warm and confident with a true love or working with people
  • Coordinate the daily flow of customer scheduling, servicing and checkout
  • Respond to common inquiries or concerns from customers, staff or vendors.
  • Confident in recommendations and up-selling
  • Must be humble, teachable and able to accept direction from the Owner and all members of the Sage and Sweetgrass team. We are all here for each other!
  • Able to organize and maintain a large and diverse retail area
  • Detail oriented, self managed and have the ability to prioritize and work without supervision
  • Fully comfortable or willing to learn all aspects of Social Media e.g.: (facebook, Instagram)
  • Interest and some understanding of aromatherapy, essential oils and how these oils can benefit lives
  • Interest in the beauty industry with a strong love and passion for Holistic/Organic bath, body, skin and hair products
  • Able to organize and fulfill a social media calendar ongoing
  • Strong Computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and client handling


Hours

Tuesday 10:00am – 6:00pm
Wednesday 10:00am – 5:00pm
Thursday 10:00am – 5:00pm
Friday 11:00am – 7:00pm
Saturday (1 Saturday per month)


Duties and Responsibilities:

Accurately explain service to prospects
A full knowledge of all Sage and Sweetgrass products as per the training manual and catalogue.
Answer all phone calls in a timely and friendly manner using the scripts provided
Inventory control of both retail and professional inventory
Manage inventory of office supplies, cleaning supplies and general sundries pertaining to the coffee/tea station.
Order/Receive packages/supplies according to procedure.
Verify invoices against packing slips.
Check messages and emails frequently throughout the day.
Assist Owner with events per Owner’s direction.
Keep a spotless and beautiful retail/desk area.
Ensure daily appointment confirmation calls.
Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Owner or other team members to keep the salon/spa running smoothly.
Measures of Performance:
How do you know what a “win” looks like when you are part of the Sage and Sweetgrass team? The Salon Coordinator shall be deemed to be performing in an acceptable manner when the following have been accomplished.
Subjectively, by the morale of the team relating to the support, and thus the performance of The Salon Coordinator.
All deadlines/timelines have been met
Cash drawer accuracy
100% Customer Satisfaction during check-in and check-out.
Salary will be discussed, based on experience, and will only be discussed during the interview procedure

Responsible for:

  • Junior members of the front desk team
  • Overall staff satisfaction

Responsible to:

  • Answers directly to the Salon Owner
